We are a church for the international community in Bergen and therefore our congregation is made up of people from many parts of the world, united in Christ to worship Him in a multicultural church fellowship.
English is our main language.
It’s a place to find new friends and to find out more about the Christian faith.
Whether you are Norwegian or from other countries, a Christian or just curious; you are most welcome to our fellowship!
We are an international evangelical church, affiliated with NMS (Norwegian Missionary Society). This is a Lutheran mission organisation within the Lutheran church of Norway. OiC includes people from a wide range of Christian denominations or church backgrounds and nationalities. The cultural and ethnic differences are positive resources that enrich our community, rather than elements for fear and hindrances.
“Sharing worldwide blessings”. This slogan summarizes the vision of Stavanger International Church (SIC). The Hebrew word for “blessing” (barak) means to give strength. We will seek God’s blessing and pass that blessing on to others. We will make God’s grace and goodness available to people around us. The greatest gift of all we share is the gift of salvation through faith in Christ (Ephes. 2:8). That gift gives way to the variety of other “different gifts, according to the grace given us” (Rom.12:6).
North Sea Baptist Church has been serving the international community in Stavanger since 1973. Today we serve people from all over the world who come from a wide range of denominational backgrounds. We are conservative in theology, contemporary in worship, international in character and practical in ministry. Sunday mornings we have Bible study classes for children as well as childcare for 0-4 year olds during the worship service.
We have ongoing activities for the whole family, youth, young adults, women, men, and children designed to provide spiritual growth, family fellowship, and build life-long friendships while centering around God’s Word for us today. It is our goal that everyone will be able to find a place at NSBC.
